Check types and coverage
When verifying an entity, you can perform a registry check and opt-in to automatically identify ownership, where available.
We offer two types of entity verification checks, depending on the information you'd like to verify and retrieve.
Check Types
Registry Check
Requirements:
Legal entity (business) name and suffix
Country of incorporation
Company, or registration number
A registry check screens and verifies the provided entity data against corporate registries. After processing, the following registry-dependent information is available:
The source of the registry
The entity's registered address
The entity's date of incorporation
The structure type of the entity (eg. Ltd)
Anti-Money Laundering flags and information, if applicable
Tip: Manual-entry ownership is available for Registry Checks. Entities can manually input their shareholders, directors, and universal beneficial owners, who are then verified alongside the entity.
Registry & Ownership Insights Check
Requirements:
Legal entity (business) name and suffix
Country of incorporation
Company, or registration number
Registry and Ownership Insights dives deeper into corporate registries, screening the provided entity data and automatically detecting ownership structures, directors, shareholders, and universal beneficial owners.
After processing, the following registry-dependent information is available:
Everything in a standard Registry Check
The entity's business activity, and its trading status
The entity's contact, support, and website details
Information on the entity's financial year start, and end dates
Any representation rights applicable to the entity
Anti-Money Laundering flags and information, if applicable
In addition, Ownership Insights automatically detects and provides information enhanced by us about an entity's ownership structure, its directors, shareholders, universal beneficial owners, and more:
The total capital, or shareholding amount, of the entity
The entity's share class types, and what they mean
Whether the entity has shareholders with beneficially owned shares
Whether the entity has raised capital, where available
Information on automatically identified directors, shareholders, UBOs, and others, including names, dates of birth, shares or roles held, shareholding percentages, addresses, and more.
Registry & Ownership Insights auto-detects ownership structures. You can choose to selectively verify UBOs in the platform, or verify full ownership.
If you choose to verify ownership, we'll automatically detect and require the entity to input email or phone numbers for those identified, who are then verified alongside the entity.
Manual-entry fallback is available if we can't detect the ownership automatically, so your client can still be verified without interruptions.
Zones and Coverage
Entities are split into zones based on their country of incorporation, complexity, and access to the registry. Please refer to your service agreement, or contact your account manager for zone pricing.

Changing a Flow's Check Type
You can change which flows perform the different types of entity checks. To change a Flow's check type, head to the Flows tab and click edit.
From there, you will be able to change which type of check you want to perform on the flow, under the Check Type dropdown.
